Ducati had one more surprise in store for us when it came to presenting its new motorcycle for 2022 yesterday. And it was none other than presenting two different models at the same time. On the one hand came the new Ducati Streetfighter V2, the access model to the nude range of the Italian firm. But on the other hand he presented his older sister ready for the circuits.
We talk about the Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP, a motorcycle that arrives with exclusive decoration, premium equipment derived from the Superleggera V4, as well as a fairly contained weight of 196 kg in running order (3 kg less compared to the Streetfighter V4 S).
Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP: Formula Fight with Sport Production features

The new Streetfighter V4 SP is the most powerful naked off the Borgo Panigale assembly line. Thanks to special technical equipment that seamlessly blends Formula Fight with SP specs (Sport Production), this new numbered special series further improves the Streetfighter V4 S's power-to-weight ratio.
In fact, you can see that we are facing a motorcycle out of the ordinary at first glance, since it has a special decoration called Ducati Corse inspired "Winter Test", used by the official riders in the preseason tests of the MotoGP and SBK championships that is a real delight.

The total black effect derived from the matte black of the carbon fairings and rims contrasts beautifully with the polished aluminum tank, while the bright red details that mark the tail, tank and front fairing are reminiscent of the classic Ducati Red. The seat is specific to this edition and is personalized with the "V4 SP" logo, while the carbon wings are adorned with the colors of the Italian flag, a detail that also stands out on the Panigale V4 R SBK.
Another point that stands out about this new "fighter" is its engine. It continues to use the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale, capable of generating 208 hp of power and a maximum torque of up to 123 Nm at 9,500 rpm (Euro5 approved). However, this time it is associated with a new STM-EVO SBK dry clutch, which guarantees a better anti-bounce function, even in more aggressive downshifts, achieving greater fluidity in all stages of "deceleration", a crucial aspect for it to be truly effective on the track when pushed to the limit.

But if this SP version stands out for something, it is because of its low weight. And is that to achieve 196 kg in running order (3 kg less compared to the Streetfighter V4 S), the new V4 SP uses forked five-spoke carbon rims, 1.4 kg lighter than forged aluminum that come standard on the Streetfighter V4 S. Thanks to their application, Ducati says that they are able to reduce inertia by 26% in the front and 46% in the rear, which makes the bike significantly more agile and lighter when changing direction.
The braking system has two 330 mm diameter discs on the front end combined with new Brembo Stylema R monobloc calipers, that improve lever travel stability even after intense use on the track, further reducing residual torque.
In terms of suspensions, the new Streetfighter V4 SP inherits the same components as the Streetfighter V4 S, using a Öhlins NIX-30 fork, an Öhlins TTX36 rear shock and a steering damper Öhlins controlled by the second generation Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 system. The only difference that this SP version has with respect to the S, is that the new machine has the same springs and hydraulics as the Panigale V4 and that the preload of the fork spring has been reduced from 11 to 6 mm.

The equipment is enriched with CNC machined aluminum adjustable footpegs, carbon front fender, lithium-ion battery and a range of accessories suitable for "track days", such as the open carbon clutch cover and the caps for removing the license plate bracket.
In the electronic section also inherits all components from its sister the Streetfighter V4 S such as the six-axis IMU Inertial Platform, Bosch EVO Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control EVO 2 (DTC EVO 2), Ducati Slider Control (DSC), Ducati Wheelie Control EVO (DWC EVO), Ducati Launch Power (DPL), the Ducati Quick Shift EVO 2 (DQS EVO 2), the Engine Brake Control EVO (EBC EVO) and the Ducati Electronic Suspension EVO (DES EVO).

The Streetfighter V4 SP will be available from March 2022 in a single-seater configuration with the Winter Test livery for a confirmed price in Spain of 34,990 euros, 8,500 euros more than the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S.
