Ducati is making Thursdays our favorite day of the week. And much to blame for this is the web series that it has produced on YouTube to announce the next news that it will bring to the market. On this occasion we have been able to see how The Italian firm has stripped a whole Panigale V2 of its fairings to create a unique naked.
It's about the Ducati Streetfigther V2, a motorcycle that arrives to establish itself as the entry model to the naked range, easy and intuitive to handle and that has a 955 cc Superquadro engine and 153 CV of power. Figures that are already impressive, without knowing that it only weighs 178 kilograms dry and that it enjoys the same technological package of the Panigale V2.
Ducati Streetfigther V2: a new fighter has arrived in town

If Ducati stands out for something when it comes to making a motorcycle, it is for giving character and passion to its creations. And with this Ducati Streetfighter V2 it was not going to be less. Its design inherits the most characteristic elements from the muscular Streetfighter V4. However, the Ducati Centro Stile has worked on reinterpreting some of them. to give the motorcycle its own distinctive personality.
The bodywork is an essential part of these changes. Since its two main lines naturally connect the tail with the front fairing through the engine. And it is that the Ducati Streetfighter V2 has changed the driving position looking for sportiness but also comfort, with a more upright position thanks to the new handlebar (taller and wider) and repositioning the footrest. The new seat (wider and softer compared to the Panigale V2), which now rises 845 mm from the ground, also contributes to this comfort. Another element that does not change with respect to the Streetfighter family is its distinctive headlamp, whose V-shaped DLR is inspired by the famous Joker's smile.

Mechanically, it has the 955cc Superquadro twin engine capable of generating a maximum power of 153 hp at 10,750 rpm and maximum torque of 101.4 Nm at 9,000 rpm, all with the Euro5 homologation. Ducati's traditional 90 ° V-design has been configured with the cylinder rotated rearward to achieve a 21 ° angle between the front cylinder and the horizontal plane, in order to compact the wheelbase.
In addition, the valves are controlled by the Desmodromic system with sports rocker arms, coated with DLC (Diamond-like Carbon), to reduce friction and increase resistance to fatigue. The transmission, meanwhile, has a six-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift EVO 2 system combined with an oil-bathed clutch, anti-bounce system and a progressive servo that allows limited slip when brake torque is applied. motor.
Compared to the Panigale V2, the Streetfighter V2 has a shorter final development (15/45 vs 15/43), ensuring greater torque to the wheel at highway speeds while offering better engine responsiveness when resuming throttle. Thanks to this, it is not only usable and pleasant on the road, but it also becomes very efficient on the track, where it can be easily handled.

While developing this new model, Ducati engineers focused their attention on the geometry of the frame. In fact, in order to achieve a dry weight of just 178 kg, the Streetfighter V2 frame has been fully optimized, using the engine as a supporting element, in which the single-sided rear swingarm (pivoting directly on the crankcase) and the compact front structure, a die-cast aluminum monocoque, anchored directly to the cylinder head, are integrated. In addition, the monocoque chassis itself acts as an air filter box and houses the throttle bodies and the injectors power circuit.
The single-sided swingarm is 16mm longer than that of the Panigale V2 with a 1,465mm final wheelbase, a point that contributes to guaranteeing the stability of the entire motorcycle. Despite this new configuration, its weight distribution remains markedly sporty with 52% for the front and 48% for the rear.

In the section on suspensions, there is a 43mm diameter Showa brand inverted front fork, Fully adjustable in compression, rebound and spring preload with a Sachs steering damper. The rear shock, mounted on the side, is also signed by Sachs, using progressive linkage that actuate it and being fully adjustable.
The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with five-spoke wheels and shod with the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires in measures 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 180/60 ZR17 at the rear. To brake, it has a Brembo radial anchor front system (calipers and pump) with monobloc M4.32 calipers that act on a pair of 320 mm discs. The rear system is also signed by Brembo and consists of a caliper with two opposed pistons that acts on a 245 mm diameter disc. The brake pads have a less aggressive bite than on the Panigale V2 to enhance their effectiveness in road use.

The electronic section is inherited directly from the Panigale V2 but with certain adjustments to adapt it to a more comfortable driving on the road. Keep using the 6-axis IMU inertial platform that manages all aids electronic parts of the motorcycle. This electronic package includes ABS Cornering EVO with "slide by brake" function, traction control (DTC) EVO 2, anti-wheel control (DWC) EVO, Quick Shift (DQS) EVO 2 and engine brake (EBC) EVO.
In addition, the operating parameters of each control are associated by default with the three driving modes (Sport, Road, Wet), that change their name with respect to those of the Panigale V2 and introduce the wet mode (Wet) with specific settings of the Traction Control and Antiwheelie for low-grip road surfaces.

The bike has Full LED headlights with front DRL and a 4.3 inch color TFT display with highly intuitive graphics and interface, making it easy to navigate and adjust settings, as well as to immediately identify the selected driving mode. The electronic equipment can be enhanced with a range of accessories from the Ducati Performance catalog such as the Ducati Data Analyzer (DDA + GPS) and the Ducati Multimedia System, through which the pilot accepts incoming calls, selects and listens to a song and receives notifications by SMS via Bluetooth technology.
The Ducati Performance catalog also includes improvements aimed at improving the performance of the motorcycle on the circuit such as the biplane wings (which offers an extra downforce of 28 kg at 265 km / h), a full titanium exhaust signed by Akrapovič (which increases power to 157 hp and reduces weight by 7 kg), the single-seater kit, the street-approved Akrapovič exhaust and a long etcetera.

The new Ducati Streetfighter V2 will be available in Spanish dealers from December in a single Ducati Red color, with a confirmed price starting at 17,990 euros (VAT included).
