The latest information, from a statement from Laurent Rossi, the CEO of Alpine, they suggest that it will not be until the Formula 1 season ends when they make a decision about the future of Brivio. The problem is that there is still more than a month left for that to happen.

In a talk between Rossi's and Motorsport, the Alpine CEO assures that they are going to undertake a restructuring in their technical team for next season, which will be crucial in Formula 1. But it will not be until the end of the year when these changes are implemented., and therefore decide if Brivio is free.
Brivio still has one more year on his contract with Alpine, but the reports of the last weeks suggest that he would not be too comfortable neither with his work within the team, nor with his life in the United Kingdom, nor with the general atmosphere of Formula 1. And that is why he would like to return to MotoGP in 2022.
All all eyes point to Suzuki, his old team in which he was proclaimed world champion in 2020. Since then in Hamamatsu they have not looked for a replacement, but the vacancy remains free for Brivio himself to fill if he is finally released from his contract. A triumvirate has held office, without much success, in 2021.

Although rumors also linked Brivio to the VR46, Valentino Rossi's new team, 'Il Dottore' ruled out its dissolution, since it will be Pablo Nieto who will direct the structure. It seems a fact that if Brivio leaves Alpine it will be to return to Suzuki, but it is not so clear that Fernando Alonso's team will release him.
Let us also remember that Formula 1 season ends on December 12, practically a month after that of MotoGP, so Brivio would lose part of the management if he returned. But if Suzuki has been able to wait a year, the operation is not going to fall for another month.
