We know that KTM is immersed in the renewal of some models in its range. And is that the arrival of the dreaded Euro 5 precipitated the renovation of some of its most iconic squad such as the Duke in its 125 and 390 versions. Nothing had been said about its faired sister until now.
After an own leak in which they let us see their external appearance, KTM now publishes a small preview of how their sounds new KTM RC 390 in a teaser. In the images we can confirm the use of a new optical group for its rear, very similar to the one seen in the Duke.
May premiere on September 21
The information in the video is almost as scarce as the quality of the photos of the leak by KTM of what in theory will be the new RC 390. That does not mean that we can observe some of the changes that this 2021 model may have with respect to the previous generation. If we pay attention to these images, the new RC 390 will have a very different look to what we've seen so far.
Analyzing these images, we can see that its front leaves the front entrance with the two headlights divided in favor of a unique dynamic looking headlamp in which LEDs are sensed. Accompanying this new image, orange and blue graphics are included in line with the brand's colors, which give it a sporty look and continue with the road to race spirit that the brand uses as its motto.
We can also observe a deposit of bigger fuel than the previous one and placed in a more ergonomic way, thus improving some points that it suffered from. Its driving position seems to have also been corrected to abandon that radicality that characterized it, now adopting a more relaxed position with the semi-handlebars raised above the seat post and the more forward footpegs.
Mechanically, he is expected to have the same engine that his naked sister uses, the 44 hp single-cylinder engine and a maximum torque of 27 Nm. Looking at the teaser along with the leaked "official photos", it appears that it is quite faithful to the images that were posted by mistake. However, in the video the fairing is painted in what we believe will be another one of its color combinations, orange and white.
At the moment we have no further information. What we can tell you is that if you look in detail in the previous video, it seems that the Austrian brand will reveal its premiere September 21. At least that makes us think by including numbers 21 and 9. In several fragments, we will have to remain very attentive until then.
