The fuel tank has also helped to achieve this agility despite having increased its capacity to the 13.7 liters.
In the mechanical section we find a 373 cc single-cylinder engine prepared for Euro 5, cooled by water, with two camshafts and four valves and electronic gasoline injection capable of generate 44 hp of power. In addition, to improve its response to the throttle and offer more torque, KTM has modernized its intake system by providing it with a 40% larger air filter box.
To manage power and not run out of control, the KTM RC 390 receives new engine maps that improve its efficiency and also allow you to implement the semi-automatic Quickshifter +. We cannot forget either that it now includes a new, more efficient exhaust system that has taken its design from the RC16. It has stainless steel manifolds and an aluminum silencer that are very attractive to the eye but more to the ear thanks to its throaty sound.
Its cycle part is another one that has improved the most. Apart from having changed its chassis for an ultralight one as we mentioned before, the suspensions have been renewed with adjustable springs WP. Your front fork now features an adjustable open cartridge WP APEX, with 30 clicks of adjustments for compression on the left leg and 30 clicks for extension on the right. At the rear, it is equipped with a WP APEX monoshock adjustable in rebound and preload.

Thanks to its new construction in which it abandons spokes and lightens the rim, its weight has been lowered by 3.4 kg compared to the previous generation. For the brakes, a new ABS system has been chosen that has the Supermoto option and ABS in a corner.
Mechanically we have a 320 mm front brake disc and a 4 pistone Bybre calipers and radial mount, while on the rear it uses a fixed single piston caliper with a size of 230 mm. Thanks to this, the set has reduced the total weight by one kilo.
Electronically, the KTM RC 390 from 2022 makes use of numerous driving assistance systems such as the MTC traction control, ABS in curves or the optional Quickshifter +.
