After almost two years in which we have hardly had information about it, the Finnish brand Verge (formerly known as RMK Vehicle Corporation) has confirmed the deliveries of their first motorcycles by 2022.
We are talking about the Verge TS, a revolutionary electric motorcycle that has a perimeter motor developed entirely by the brand capable of generating 1,000 Nm of torque and reach a top speed of 180 km / h. Bigger words for a motorcycle that is complemented by top-level brands such as Brembo or Öhlins. Of course, everything has a price and that of it rises to 24,990 euros.
A unique propulsion system in the world
After more than two years of development, Finnish start-up Verge Motorcycles has launched its electric motorcycle without rear hub. It is the Verge TS (TS are the initials of its creator, Teemu Saukkio), a motorcycle created from scratch with a lot of ingenuity and heart that has been a revolution and that arrives on the market to make the public fall in love with figures of authentic heart attack.
Presented at the last EICMA held in 2019, this electric motorcycle has state-of-the-art technical solutions that will leave you speechless. Its exterior design mixes the classic features of a naked with the most futuristic technology to create a hybrid that could be worthy of being in a manga comic like Akira's.
However, nothing could be further from the truth. The brand's engineers have created a motorcycle with a brushless electric motor that dispenses with hubs where it can be inserted and that is directly attached to the contour of the rear tire. They have called it a perimeter engine and with it it is capable of generating a power of 80 kW (107 CV) and 1,000 Nm of pair.
Thanks to this you can accelerate from 0 to 100 in less than four seconds, achieving a maximum speed of 180 km / h. Although we suppose that, to avoid misfortunes in his first arreón, he will use a controller that allows transmitting all that thrust to the ground without danger for the pilot. And we say that we assume it because the company itself has not wanted to reveal many more details.
The same happens with your battery. We know that it is placed where the traditional gasoline tank would go and that it has a autonomy that will allow you to travel 200 kilometers on the highway and 300 in the city, needing four hours to fully charge them. However, we do not know if these will be removable or not (it does not look like the photos), nor their capacity, nor their composition. Something quite important when it comes to getting a product with these characteristics.
What we do know for sure is that the weight of the set stands at 225 kg and that uses top-level brands for the rest of the components such as Öhlins adjustable suspensions or hydraulic disc brakes signed by Brembo.
In terms of electronics, the Verge TS uses a instrument panel with LCD display located in the fake gasoline tank where, in addition to the most common data such as speed, range or power, we can see a complete GPS navigator. A small digital speedometer has also been included on its handlebars to complement the LCD display.
Configurable in five different shades (blue, green, black, white or orange), its starting price It starts at 24,990 euros. To get it you will have to make a reservation on its website for 2,000 euros, with its first deliveries arriving in 2022.
