A new brand arrives at the MotoGP World Championship, although with the same tactics as the previous ones. CFMoto's Chinese have just announced their presence in the Moto3 category from next season, although they will do so under the KTM umbrella and using the Austrian brand's motorcycles.
CFMoto has been owned by the KTM group for three years, and now they have reached an agreement with the Prüstel GP team to rename their bikes and give the Chinese brand more visibility. There will be two KTM RC4 painted with the colors of CFMoto and Prüstel GP that will have two Spanish riders as riders.
Artigas and Tatay will be CFMoto riders in 2022
Is about Xavi Artigas and Carlos Tatay, who abandon their current structures to join the CFMoto project. Artigas was racing with Honda in the Leopard, and this 2021 has been his first full season, although in 2019 he made a historic 'wild card' in Cheste in which he got on the podium.
As to Tatay, champion of the Red Bull Rookies Cup in 2019This has been his second season in Moto3 in the ranks of Avintia, but he has had to leave there because he is going to become a structure of the VR46. His results to date have not been too brilliant, so he will be looking to give his career a boost.
"We are proud that Prüstel GP can collaborate on a project like this. In tough times around the world, and also for motorsports, we are grateful to have a partner like CFMOTO on our side. With this great global manufacturer behind us, we will have a great opportunity, "says Florian Prüstel, the director.
The tactic that they will continue with CFMoto it is already usual for KTM in the small category of the world cup. Jorge Martínez Aspar's team rides with bikes called GasGas, while the structure of Max Biaggi does so under the name of Husqvarna, but in both cases they are about KTM. The same will happen with CFMoto.
"Enter the category and the motorcycling world championship means a new adventure for us and one that we are very excited about. We are grateful to have some strong partners, such as the Prüstel GP team, and we know that the championship is very competitive, "says Su Zhen, CFMoto's sports development manager.
The Prüstel GP should have had a dream season in 2021, as signed Pedro Acosta as a pilot for two years. But in the end it has turned into a nightmare. Not only for losing Acosta but for the terrible accident that ended the life of Jason Dupasquier. Hopefully CFMoto will change the fortunes of the structure.
