Dennis Foggia and Pedro Acosta have shown why, with Sergio García's permission, they are the strongest drivers of this season in Moto3. The Italian rider culminated a marvelous comeback to victory, controlling a Jaume Masià on the last lap, who had many reasons to try, but no option.
For Acosta the race has been tougher. With harder tires, he had to navigate in the first laps, but in the final laps he rescued a third position on the podium, which is gold. He beat Darryn Binder and Stefano Nepa in the last corners, and thanks to that depends on himself in Portimao: if he wins the race he will be champion.

At the exit Niccolò Antonelli kept the first position ahead of Riccardo Rossi and Izan Guevara. Pedro Acosta had yielded up to eighth position, while Dennis Foggia was fifteenth. Romano Fenati hadn't had a very good start either, so the comebacks hadn't started yet.
Stefano Nepa reacted very quickly to overtake Antonelli and take the lead in the race. It gave the impression that Foggia did not have much speed, and he was running the risk of a group that Antonelli was pulling and in which Jaume Masià began to move. Pedro Acosta was not so strong, but he held on to the group.
The first fall was Rossi's and he left the bike in the middle of the track. Acosta was beginning to progress, like Foggia, but the Italian had already been left off the hook in a second group. Of course, as soon as the whole peloton was out of the way, it began to roll at a fast lap pace that gave rise to think that it was going to reach the top.
Acosta noticed the presence of Foggia and took the lead in the race. Key moment, because the world leader also rode a tire that was harder than the rest. But the moment of Acosta's glory was soon over, as several drivers began to overtake him, including Foggia. Now the Italian was cutting points in the general classification. Guevara and Masià led.
With nine laps to go, Foggia was leading the race, while Acosta was starting to get off the hook. The race looked bad for the Spaniard. Foggia, Masià, Darryn Binder and Guevara were escaped, fighting for the podium and with a second advantage over Acosta's group.
But then it came a coup in that group, because Izan Guevara was going to the ground. The fight for victory was already only three pilots. In fact, Binder was also starting to get off the hook, while Acosta was finally realizing Stefano Nepa to get fourth.
Nepa was recovering his position with an Acosta who was beginning to have too many dangerous people behind him. His great hope was that Masià could overtake Foggia in the last laps to take away the victory. Nepa and Acosta's group was hunting Binder before the start of the last lap. And Acosta happened to both.
