Jeff Nash is a former American driver and current owner of AMS Ducati. The dealer threw his glove on a legendary motorcycle like the Ducati Supermono and completely restored it so that someone could enjoy it. So if you're tired of those videos where music spoils everything, you're in luck.

It is only two minutes of noise, but extremely pleasant noise for motorcycle lovers. A sidereal single-cylinder sound from the 90s already shining in the motorcycle sky. Is the Unit 22 of 67, and what comes out of your Termignoni is a gift.

Ducati Supermono, the alter ego of a Moto3 in the '90s

They were only manufactured 67 units of the Supermono between 1993 and 1995 for the sole purpose of winning races in the single-cylinder championship which, coincidentally, bears the same name. A contest that by regulation allows motorcycles of up to 800 cc and 95 kg of maximum weight to run with the only restriction that they do not have more than one cylinder.

As you can imagine, the freedom and possibilities that this technical book offers led some racing fans to leave a lot of money to create prototypes to race with or such rare monsters as the Yamaha SZR 600, a little-known sports car with the Yamaha XT 600 engine.

The Supermono made in the early '90s even today laughs in the face of today's sports cars under 400cc with single (or twin) engines. It would possibly be the closest thing you could find to a Moto3 of the world championship almost 30 years ago, although following a very different path for its creation.

Its exterior is signed with the unmistakable seal of Pierre Terblanche, with perfectly recognizable Ducati shapes and lines that later influenced the aesthetics of the first injection Ducati Supersports.

Inside, the best solutions were used such as electronic injection, liquid cooling, magnesium Machesini rims, Öhlins suspension almost from Grand Prix, Brembo brakes, and fairing, subframe, tank, airbox, footpegs and carbon fiber frame support, … All seasoned by a huge amount of noble materials that left the weight of the set in 122 kg.

But the jewel in the crown was the engine, a single cylinder derived from the 90º L-twin used by the racing Ducati 888, which had the upper cylinder cut off. The horizontal cylinder had the displacement increased to 550 cc (570 cc in 1995) with a power of 77 hp. To achieve the balance of the engine, a phantom connecting rod (the vertical cylinder) was left, which avoided vibrations.

With all this you can imagine that the Ducati Supermono are a real treat for collectors. The unit in the video that we showed you at the beginning was sold a long time ago, but at a price that was not even made public.
