The Hinckley range has more and better options in its catalog, but if there is something that is working well for them it is the special editions, so they return to the load with the Black versions. In this case, it was the turn of the Triumph Rocket 3, both GT and R.

Called Triumph Rocket 3 GT Triple Black and Triumph Rocket 3 R Black, two huge motorcycles that now look even more aggressive thanks to a treatment that bets everything on black, but maintaining the exaggerated 2.5-liter, 167 hp three-cylinder engine.

After the success of the Bonneville Bobber and Bonneville T120 in Black versions, Hinckley has now set to work to create another pair of machines that become more threatening than ever.

The Triumph Rocket 3s arrived in R and GT versions a year ago now, once again becoming brutal British-style muscle bikes in their own right. Huge, tough and packed with personality, now the British XXL roadster they have become much scarier thanks to a treatment that bets everything on black.

Each of the versions receives a specific treatment to keep them well differentiated. The Triumph Rocket 3 R Black debuts an all black livery with a specific paint scheme with a deep black color combining gloss and matte and is replicated in many other components of the motorcycle. In the case of the Triumph Rocket 3 GT Triple Black a combination of three different shades of black. Yes, there is more than one black.

So the exhaust manifolds come finished in black, as well as the thermal protectors or the intake cover, which in its case receives a layer of powder paint. Other elements such as the headlight rings, the dome, the fender brackets or the radiator guards have also been blackened.

Adonization has also been used to make these two machines even darker. This treatment has been used for forged license plate holder, the levers, the seatpost and the handlebar risers, the shock absorber anchor, the swingarm protector, the side stand, the footrests, the heel bars and the pedals.

As if that were not enough, new mechanized mirrors have also been installed, anchored in the tips of the handlebars and, of course, black. Another change for these limited editions are the new carbon fiber front fenders and the now darker emblems.

At a technical level, no changes have been made, preserving the characteristics of the series models. That is, they are powered by the same 2,500 cc inline three-cylinder engines. They are still the largest displacement engines in the world for a series motorcycle and maintain their exaggerated 167 hp and 221 Nm of torque.

The benefits remain unchanged, preserving the overwhelming record being the fastest 0-100 km / h Triumph in just 2.83 seconds.

There are also no changes at the chassis level, with an aluminum frame and a darkened subframe for this occasion to which a 47mm Showa inverted fork in diameter with bottles finished in black and that hold two radial monobloc Brembo Stylema brake calipers at their tips.

The technological package was already well loaded from origin, so the characteristics are maintained: ABS with cornering assistance, traction control, four driving modes, digital dashboard, full LED lighting, hill start assist, cruise control, keyless start and, for the GT, heated grips.

Between both versions there are only a couple of technical differences, literally. The seat height is 23 mm higher in the Rocket 3 R Black (773 against 750 mm) and the dry weight, which leaves the Rocket 3 GT Triple Black with 294 kg, 3 kg above the 291 kg of the version R.

The price of these two special editions is 24,800 euros for the Triumph Rocket 3 R Black and 25,600 euros for the Triumph 3 GT Triple Black. Ah, an important fact: if you liked either of these two motorcycles you will have to hurry, because both are limited to 1,000 units for everyone. Your reservations are open from today.

For each unit, Triumph will issue a certificate of authenticity to attest to the relevance of each of these dark machines that we would hardly make excuses to have in our garage.
