That Honda monkey It's a lovely bike that's out of the question, and it's small too. It almost looks like a toy motorcycle but is more of an icon of motorcycling in a small bottle.
In Thailand they have had a fantastic idea: match the Honda Monkey with Hot Wheels, the scale car brand to create a limited edition, and has also brilliantly promoted it as a 1: 1 scale model kit.
Honda Monkey Hot Wheels Edition: a very serious toy
The Honda Monkey (Z Series) first came to Europe in 1967 transcending the Asian borders where it caused a furor. Since then it has remained a philosophy on two wheels that Honda recently revived.
Within this scene full of Monkey fans, in Cub house They have dared to launch a special and limited edition in which the Honda Monkey 125 and the Hot Wheels toy brand converge.
Cub House is a workshop in Bangkok (Thailand) specializing in the smallest Honda motorcycles and the whole universe around them, they make preparations, provide services to the pilots of these mini-bikes and also have a permanent exhibition in which they pay tribute to their bedside models. They are so fanatical and do such a good job that they have gained official support from Honda.
Far from being a toy for children, the Honda Monkey Hot Wheels Edition is a transformation that embraces the Hot Wheels iconography and prints it on the Monkey.
Thus we find a decoration that combines the blue, red and black colors typical of Hot Wheels and continues with draft changes such as chrome fenders topped by the brand's flames and that also extend to the front side covers or carbon fiber for the manufacture of the tank and the rear side covers.
There are also stripes for the 12-inch wheels or asymmetric cuffs: on one side orange and on the other blue. In addition, each unit will be identified with its corresponding serial number, because it is going to be a very limited production.
There will only be 150 units of these Honda Monkey 125, and each one of them will be delivered with an open helmet to match the motorcycle, a key ring and a shelf with 72 Hot Wheels cars.
At the mechanical level there are no changes, so the Monkey 125 will continue to use the same single cylinder engine of 9, 25 CV and 11 Nm of torque thanks to the efficient electronic injection system PGM-FI.
The price of this special edition will be 139,000 baht, which at today's exchange rate is about 3,570 euros. A price much lower than what the Monkey 125 costs us here (4,125 euros), although they are not comparable markets.
