Good news comes from England. A new mid-range motorcycle has been born, and it also does so with a more than interesting proposal: Triumph philosophy, good qualities and a contained price. The Triumph trident comes with a formula that is sure to shake up the market.

The retro style and the minimalism of Triumph go hand in hand in a new naked motorcycle with a very strong influence with respect to the old designs of the house, and is combined with quality materials to stand as one of the great protagonists in the neo-retro segment.

At Triumph they have an increasingly wide range, but those from Hinckley still needed to cover a very important gap, and it was the one that remained below the Triumph Street Triple S with an engine limited to the A2 card requirements.

For this reason, Triumph has created this new Triumph Trident, recovering a mythical name within the British house and that will come back to life to face the best-selling naked in the segment such as the Yamaha MT-07, Kawasaki Z650 and Honda CB650R, but with a personality of its own.

Triumph's proposal with the Trident is to offer a mid-range product, accessible in terms of performance and also in terms of price to become without a doubt the motorcycle with the highest sales share of the English brand.

The new Trident uses a specific engine, a block of three cylinders in line with 67 new components to achieve a specific tuning. It is a 660 cc Euro5 that offers figures of 81 hp and 64 NmWith a particularly flat curve, it offers more torque at low revs than the Street Triple's 660cc engine. Optionally, it can be limited to 47 CV for the A2 card.

This motor is associated with a six-speed gearbox with assisted clutch. The two-way quickhitch will be offered as an option only, while the exhaust has been conceived as a fundamental part of the design and is contained in a bulky, silencer pouch on the right rear side of the keel.

At the chassis level, we are facing a totally new creation, a tubular steel frame that is complemented by an aluminum subframe and 17 inch wheels lightweight five-spoke for maximum maneuverability.

This chassis is combined with Showa suspensions on both trains, with an inverted fork on the front and monoshock with link rods on the rear. The brakes section is signed by Nissin with a dual 310mm front discs bitten by dual-piston calipers and a single disc with a single piston caliper at the rear.

The seat is only 805 mm high, which together with a particularly narrow central arch will help any pilot to feel comfortable and confident at its controls. Trust is one of the fundamental points that Hinckley has worked on. The lightness of the set is more than evident with a final figure on the scale of only 189 kg in running order.

The dashboard is a digital sphere that encloses a TFT digital screen inside. Inside we will find two driving modes (Road and Rain), in addition to traction control (can be switched off) that works thanks to the interaction with an electronic accelerator.

The technology does not stop here, since the headlight is made up of a round optical group that hides a 7 inch LED light, in addition to using the same technology in the taillight and the sequential indicator gadget that give it a particularly modern touch, although they will be optional.

These factors contrast with a design highly inspired by the brand's retro aesthetic. The lines are minimalist in which almost all the weight of the design falls on a 14 liter fuel tank with curved shapes and recesses for the knees in the purest café racer style. The rounded lines are repeated on the front fender or on the tail with the pilot integrated under the seat.

The Triumph Trident will be offered at four different decorations: Chrystal White, Sapphire Black, and two matching colors with the brand logo on the tank: Matt Jet Black with Matt Silver ice and Silver Ice with Diablo Red. As usual in the brand, a wide range of options will be offered. original accessories both to personalize the Trident and to improve its equipment.

Triumph's offensive with the new Trident is clear: they want to compete with the Japanese mid-range bikes and their neo-retro aesthetic. That is why the price of the Triumph Trident will be in our market by 7,995 euros, and an additional 100 euros for decorations with the brand's shield on the tank. A price that is above its direct competition, but with a different style and a bit more quality and technology on paper.
