From Japan they remain faithful to some of their icons. The Honda rebel 500 It is one of those bikes that takes on a new life with the Euro5 regulations and is slightly updated to remain one of the most desirable custom accessible for the A2 license.
There are no big changes, far from it. This slight restyling of the Rebel 500 arrives to improve the style and overcome prolonging its commercial life while keeping intact its good qualities in terms of simplicity, lightness and providing an extra point of comfort.
Honda Rebel 500: the just changes
On the outside, the truth is that the new Rebel 500 it does not sport too many changes. The small modernist custom-style bike maintains the same clean lines and distinctive 11.2-liter teardrop-shaped fuel tank, as well as the rear with a reinterpretation of the Japanese bobber world.
In the front we do see some minor change, with the use of a new LED headlight which keeps the shapes round. The indicators now also become LED and a specific decoration is released.
The driving position has hardly changed, but it does include some new features. The dashboard is a new LCD digital display negative that includes a new gear-in-gear indicator.
The footrests have a more comfortable position and to contribute to ride comfort the Conventional suspensions on both trains receive some new adjustments, softer and with the rear shocks charged with nitrogen. In the rear seat we find a seat and footrests that can be quickly removed to leave it in a single-seater configuration, as before.
In the bowels of the in-line twin-cylinder engine there are also some tweaks, enough to comply with the new anti-pollution regulations and, incidentally, offer a little more power: 45.5 hp, but with a little less torque (43.3 Nm against 44.6 Nm).
The changes introduced should not have a greater dynamic impact than better ride comfort, since with the new equipment the weight on the scale is only increased by 1 kg to 191 kg in running order. The seat stays at a very accessible 690mm.
Additionally, the Honda Rebel S will also be marketed, a variant more equipped with exclusive decoration (Matte Axis Gray Metallic) that includes as standard a mask for the headlight, smoked screen, fork bellows and a seat with specific upholstery.
