Toprak Razgatlioglu is back at the top of the World Cup, or at least tied. He was brave in the opening laps to win a race that seemed impossible, taking the lead at the beginning and then closing all the doors very well. He is tied with Jonathan Rea at the head of the World Cup.
And it is that the champion, somewhat impotent, has made small mistakes that have left him in third position. He tried to keep Scott Redding for as long as possible, but in the last laps the Ducati one passed in front and also cut some points in the world championship. The battle for the title is already a matter of three.
Redding joins the fight for the title skimming the treble in Los Arcos

In the Superpole Race there were a passionate duel between Scott Redding, Jonathan Rea and Toprak Razgatlioglu that ended with victory for the Ducati Panigale V4 R. Rea tried until the last lap, but it seems that Redding has one more step in Los Arcos. Now he was going for the triplet of victories.
At the exit Scott Redding kept the first position while Jonathan Rea lost several places. But the Yamas began to attack Redding, preventing the Ducati from escaping and allowing Rea to quickly return to the group. Razgatlioglu was leading based on a lot of risk. Chaz Davies and Garrett Gerloff fell behind after a bunt.

Rea also surpassed Redding, but the pace was not very high, and it is that Razgatlioglu was the one who had had the most difficulties of the leading drivers throughout the weekend. Lucas Mahias was hit by a double 'Long Lap Penalty' for the show he put on before the start, and which delayed the procedure for ten minutes.
It seemed that Rhea had quite a grip on Razgatlioglu, and so did Redding, who was watching further away. The champion was beginning to be somewhat restless behind his greatest rival for the title. Mechanical problems for Naomichi Uramoto, who definitely ended the weekend without points with the Suzuki.

Redding began to react, getting very close to a Rea who in turn began to make slight errors at his inability to pass Razgatlioglu. In fact, the Turk opened some gap, and it is that he is a hard bone to overtake because he brakes better than anyone and he does not have bad top speed.
Razgatlioglu's lead grew to a second ahead, while Redding was still stuck behind Rea. The fall of Leon Haslam, who was leaving Álvaro Bautista, ninth, as the only Honda on the track without problems, since Leandro Mercado also had a mishap at the beginning, although he was still on the track.

A little scare from Razgatlioglu allowed the pursuers to get closer, but then Redding was starting to attack Rea. A small mistake by the champion opened the door for the Ducati to sneak on the outside: too late to go for Razgatlioglu but timely for at least Redding to cut a few points.
Victory for Toprak Razgatlioglu, who draws oil from a very difficult weekend and leaves Navarra tied with Jonathan Rea in the leadership of the world. Redding gets a second position that re-engages him in the battle for the title. Álvaro Bautista finished ninth and Tito Rabat, eleventh.
