The range of Yamaha MAX models is gradually growing. In the wake of the Yamaha T-MAX 530, the X-MAX were born in 125 and 250 cc versions, to which the N-MAX was more recently added. The latest model to complete the family is the new Yamaha X-MAX 300 That will arrive in 2017, a new model that grows in displacement, qualities and finishes and will mark the new design lines of the family of scooters of the Japanese brand.
Following the line of sport utility vehicles but going a step further in terms of the elegance of its forms and premium looks, the X-MAX 300 shares common genetics with the T-MAX and carries the legacy of more than 11 years of life and more than 130,000 units sold from the X-MAX 250.
Scooter, premium and very modern
On the outside, the evolution of the model is obvious, a completely new generation that stands out for its dynamic and sophisticated lines. The front is presided over by a double split headlight and an additional central headlight, all LED. From his torn gaze and the lines that run through the rest of the bike flow; the ascending shapes of the lids, a middle zone dominated by the central tunnel and a final finished off by a rear light also made of LED. A very T-MAX language.
The control panel consists of a dual analog clock and a multifunction central display (configurable by means of a button on the left pineapple) that finishes off a set where the premium feeling is more than remarkable without sacrificing functionality. Under the seat we can fit two full-face helmets and even a laptop thanks to its extra-wide design. We also have two 12 V sockets, one in the hood and one in the front glove compartment.
Blue Core engine, "motorcycle" cycle part
The latest of the latest in engine design from Yamaha is called Blue core, and under this denomination we find a yield that extracts a 27.6 hp maximum power spending the least thanks to a design that avoids power losses.
The engine is a 300cc single cylinder, four-stroke, with four overhead valves, SOCH, Euro 4 and liquid cooling. Very conventional in its conception, but avant-garde in its execution thanks to solutions such as a high compression hemispherical combustion chamber, valves with an optimized shape and an eccentric cylinder.
This decentralized cylinder configuration helps to minimize mechanical losses and better cool internal components. In addition there is made in DiASil with oil jet cooling to the piston.
For a much more pleasant and forceful driving experience, the X-MAX 300 also receives a new injection equipment with a new location of the 12-hole injector that launches the mixture to the rear of the valve. This achieves faster combustion and better torque at low and medium speeds.
The frame It is not an adaptation of the previous one, but it has been designed from scratch so that the Yamaha X-MAX 300 has an impeccable behavior. Among all its design, the use of a motorcycle-type fork, more robust and firmly anchored to the head tube, draws attention. Together with the double rear shock absorber, stability will be fully guaranteed.
The wheels They use measures of 15 inches in the front axle and 13 in the rear axle that house two brake discs of 267 and 240 mm respectively equipped with ABS as standard, as marked by Euro 4.
MAX electronics
But on these physical components we find that electronics also reaches the urban scooters of Yamaha adopting a new TCS traction control. Several sensors analyze the wheel spin constantly and if they detect slipping on the rear wheel, they reduce their speed temporarily to increase safety on slippery surfaces.
We also find a new system of keyless start by means of a command that we will not have to take out of our pockets. We will simply get on the X-MAX 300, it will detect the presence by proximity and we can start without wasting a second locating the keys.
There will be three colors available for you to choose which is your favorite X-MAX 300 (Lunar Gray, Milky White and Quasar Bronze). It will be available at a price to be determined (probably no less than the 5,399 for the X-MAX 250 ABS Iron) starting in March 2017.
