It's Italian, it's brutal, and it sounds like hell is breaking through the mountain. The Ducati Streetfighter V4 Prototype will participate in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and after some first photos, now we can see how the naked amphetaminated of the Italian house performs on its first ascent into the clouds.
The footage corresponds to a test climb that has been carried out recently and in it we can see how the Streetfighter V4 in racing configuration dances between the curves with astonishing ease while letting out a heartrending howl through its Ducati Performance exhausts signed by Akrapovic.
A naked V4 motorcycle with about 200 hp
Not surprisingly, the sound is more typical of a racing bike. The Streetfighter V4 in its configuration for the PPIHC is precisely that, a racing motorcycle, a naked version of the Panigale V4 with the same engine, same cycle part and a short fairing that includes some prominent ailerons on the sides of the radiator to generate downforce.
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 Prototype is a motorcycle that precedes the arrival of the final production model that we will see at the next Milan Motor Show in 2019, a motorcycle that will undoubtedly be the most beast we have seen with a wide handlebar.
Knowing those of Borgo Panigale and knowing that there are road beasts of the stature of the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 and KTM 1290 Super Duke R (of which we have already seen some spy photos in 2020 version), it is easy to think that the Ducati Streetfighter V4 is going to be a decaffeinated motorcycle with respect to its competition of 174 and 177 CV respectively.
Knowing that the four-cylinder Desmosedici Stradale engine in vee that in the Ducati Panigale V4 offers a comfortable 214 hp of maximum power, the Streetfighter V4 will hardly lower its power of 200 hp although the propeller is retouched to offer a greater delivery in lows and mids with a shorter stretch.
And remember that it will be next June 30 when the advance of the Streetfighter V4 will go out to try to revalidate the title of Pikes Peak in a race of 19, 99 kilometers with more than 1,440 meters of unevenness and 156 curves that culminate in a goal at more than 4,000 meters high.
