Happy New Year! 2019 has just arrived to shelve a 2018 that has been exciting in all aspects. At Motorpasión Moto we have continued to grow steadily throughout the year and that is undoubtedly thanks to you who are on the other side reading the content and supporting us day by day. Thanks from my heart.
Thanks for being there, but get ready because there is much to come. 2019 opens the doors to a new stage, a stage in which things will change to continue growing together and making our passion an even wider universe.
For a 2019 even more special than 2018
In MotoGP we have relived this 2018 season one of the most exciting years that we can remember in the modern era of the Motorcycle World Championship. Yes, it is true that Marc Márquez has taken his seventh world title with relative ease until reaching Level 7, but it has not been so easy.
A leathery Andrea Dovizioso He has made things very difficult for Cervera, even beating him in several anthology hand-to-hand, but a protestor has also made an appearance Jorge Lorenzo on a roll until injuries got in the way on the Ducati Desmosedici GP18, the tireless Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales waiting for your chance.
2019 looks even more interesting with the change of Jorge Lorenzo to Honda as Marc Márquez's teammate, a signing that has shaken the paddock and that left us very surprised on his day. Now the problem will be in the Honda garage where the two fittest riders in the category will have to coexist; both with an inordinate hunger for victory.
Moving to a more earthly plane, that of the motorcycles that any of us can take After going through the dealer on duty, the street bikes that will arrive in 2019 also promise us a year more than entertaining. Ah! And electric motorcycles will also come to MotoGP for the first time and we will see if Ducati can finally topple Kawasaki in the World Superbike Championship.
We don't have to go to supercars like the Ducati Panigale V4 R, BMW S 1000 RR or Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory, which give us goosebumps, there are many others motorcycles that are already making us daydream since its introduction this fall.
Indian FTR1200, Triumph Scrambler 1200, KTM 790 Adventure R, Yamaha XTZ700 Ténéré, Ducati Hypermotard 950, Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja, the new H2 supercharged, all BMW artillery with the R 1250 RT, R 1250 R and R 1250 RS and R 1250 GS Adventure plus the F 850 GS Adventure and the new C 400 GT scooter… and many more!
From what it seems the brands have not folded their arms waiting for the Euro 5 regulation to arrive and have got down to work, but what is more important there seems to be a clear trend towards passionate motorcycles. Supercars have been radicalized to the extreme, they are resurfacing the sporty socks Like the Honda CBR650R, reliance on pure fun concepts like the Hypermotard remains and the true trail segment is on the mend for adventure. The electric Harley-Davidson LiveWire and a horde of unreleased models from the Milwaukee firm will also break out. We can't ask for more.
Nor can we forget that 2018 has been heavily featured by the expansion of electric scooters. The Personal Mobility Vehicles They have been a challenge for public administrations and after the three confirmed deaths that we have had to regret throughout the year, the arrival of a regulation that regulates them properly is more than urgent, but that will not arrive until the summer of 2019.
The VMP together with private motorcycles and motosharing will change the way of moving around cities. Cities in which there is less and less room for cars and that need alternative and respectful means, although large cities such as Madrid or Barcelona seem to have agreed to reject motorcycles as mobility solutions, causing demonstrations with thousands of attendees first in Barcelona and then in the capital.
Be that as it may, motorcyclists are there to contribute our grain of passion to mobility but also in a more responsible way than moving 1,500 kg and 8 square meters of metal to move a single person. Because, this 2019 we continue to trust motorcyclesLet us continue to want to ride with any excuse and let us continue fighting for the improvement of our conditions on public roads as well as in the countryside, supporting the initiative of the Royal Spanish Motorcycle Federation.
Happy 2019 and lots of gas!
