The German division of Bosch dedicated to the field of ebikes continues working on its testing project that began in 2018 and in which they began taking their so-called PowerStations.

These charging stations in the testing phase are intended to provide a point where users of electric bicycles can recharge the batteries in a free and in complete safety while they make a stop on their route.

Each charging station has 6 lockers that are locked

This idea materialized for the first time in tourist areas of France, such as its natural and national parks, as well as in highly visited coastal locations. Now another game has also been launched for Germany.

Specifically in the Fichtelgebirge area, what is known as the Black forest Germany, although there are as many stations spread throughout the country, mainly in the surroundings of Stuttgart and the forecast is that there will be more and more.

In fact, Spain is among Bosch's plans, although at the moment no date has been set for the arrival of these interesting recharging points. The manufacturer talks about the possibility of charging ebikes that carry their batteries, but in reality the standard socket 4A it works for any other, as long as it is removable.

This is because the battery is stored in a locker that locks and that it stays recharging while users eat, visit a point of interest or spend the night. At best, and with the standard charger, the most economical 300 Wh 8.2 Ah PowerPack charges 50% in one hour and 100% in two and a half hours.

It can certainly be an interesting idea to promote the use of these more efficient vehicles during routes through Europe, although at the moment the available stations are scarce.
