Yamaha was one of the first motorcycle brands to jump into the world of ebikes and since then it has not stopped developing and evolving new systems in the search for improvements in terms of comfort, design and efficiency.

What brings us this time is the new engine PWseries CE, a transmission unit with important advances and that will be equipped in the models of electric bicycles of the Japanese brand. In addition, they have also presented the External Crossover EX-500, a more compact lithium-ion battery that offers facilities when fixing it to the bike frame.

Self-proclaimed by Yamaha as their lightest motor for ebikes of all those they have developed throughout their trajectory in the sector, the clean block could set the tone to carry out different designs to those seen so far.

This, due to its size content, to which it will be necessary to add a much quieter work of the transmission unit, which returns to offer a nominal power of 250 W and an assistance up to 25 km / h, basically the maximum allowed in the category of pedelec or EPAC which includes Yamaha ebikes. And in fact, these types of assisted pedaling bicycles are the only ones that can legally circulate without registration.

With a torque of 50 Nm and a weight of 2.9 kg, the PWseries CE has an automatic assistance mode that adjusts the assistance to the riding conditions and the rhythm of the rider. It also has a function called Walk Assist that makes it easier to maneuver or push the bike once we have gotten off it.

Another addition to the Yamaha ebike range is the new battery External Crossover EX-500, an evolution of the component that powers the engine and that also weighs 2.9 kg. Due to its design, it makes it easy for it to be mounted in various areas of the bicycle frame, to be disassembled again once we need to recharge its 500 Wh capacity.

The estimated recharging time is about four hours, similar to the one needed by the latest updates to the range of Japanese bicycles, which are found in the market by rivals from other manufacturers in the motorcycle sector, such as Kymco and Ducati.
