The eCooltra shared electric motorbike service is going to start renovating the motorcycles it uses in its ranks. For now, he has announced that the change is for Madrid, although the same model of motorcycles that arrive are already used in Barcelona, Lisbon and Milan.
On January 1, the Madrid 360 plan officially came into operation in the capital of Spain, which will prevent vehicles without an environmental label from entering the area. To reinforce mobility in the city, the company will include 300 new Askoll model motorcycles.
The new scooter is already used in Barcelona
The new model that we will see rolling from now on through the streets of Madrid dressed in white, blue and green is the Askoll eS2. As the company tells us, with this electric scooter they intend to "improve the quality of the service by being more agile, lighter, having a better start and climb the slopes a little better"than the model they use now from Govecs.
The Askoll eS2 is a motorcycle designed and manufactured in Italy. Its top speed is 45 km / h, the same speed used by current eCooltra models. However, the company assures us that the eS2 has more autonomy because goes up to 71 kilometers.
Its electric motor delivers a 2, 2 kW power, has a wheel torque of 130 Nm. Their two batteries are removable And they have a total capacity of 2,090 Wh, weigh 7.6 kg each and take about six hours to charge. It has regenerative braking, a 190mm diameter brake disc at the front and a 140mm drum brake at the rear. It uses a hydraulic telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
It uses LED technology for both the front and rear light as well as the turn signals, the instrument panel has an analog part, where the odometer is and another digital part in which we can see the battery level, the time or the kilometers traveled. It has a large hole in the front of the motorcycle where there is also a 12 V socket to charge the mobile. Its total weight is 82.2 kg and is capable of carrying 245 kg. It comes with a trunk where two helmets will come.
It is true that those of us who have tested eCooltra motorcycles have always missed a bit more power in their models. Unlike other companies such as Muving and Acciona, which have scooters similar in power to those of 125 cc, in eCooltra they still prefer to bet on motorcycles that are similar in power to those of the 50cc scooter.
Although these 300 new electric motorcycles are added to the total of 1,600 motorcycles that already exist in Madrid, the idea is that they will replace the Govecs models that are currently operating not only in the capital, but in five other cities in Europe (Barcelona, Valencia, Lisbon, Rome and Milan), with a total of 7,400 vehicles.
