The Moto3 category is a madhouse without a king but with a lot of talent. In Mugello we have experienced a new sample of this desert of dominators with the record that Tony Arbolino has achieved. The Italian had not set any time and on the horn he managed to stop the clock in 1: 56.407, the fastest lap in Moto3 history, beating Danny Kent's record.
Arbolino has put six tenths to the Argentine Gabriel Rodrigo, who was already beginning to savor his first pole position in this season. A meteoric lap that logically makes Arbolino the main favorite to win at home. The first row is completed by the also Italian Lorenzo Dalla Porta.
Arón Canet will start tenth and Masiá twelfth
Bad rating for the world championship leader, Arón Canet, who has only been able to be tenth. The Spaniard will have to be skilled tomorrow if he wants to maintain first place in the championship ahead of Dalla Porta himself, who will start three rows ahead. Canet has not even been the best of the Spanish.
That position has gotten it Marcos Ramírez, the Leopard rider, who has been one of the few who preferred to ride alone. Ramírez will start from ninth position but tomorrow he has options to regain places and fight for the podium, given his high pace without any hints that we have seen in practice.
But Mugello's dominance remains entirely Italian. Up to five local drivers have made it into the top seven positions. In addition to those already mentioned, Andrea Migno will start fourth, Niccolò Antonelli sixth and Romano Fenati seventh. The latter finally needs to complete a race as he only has seven points in the entire world championship.
The Spanish have not generally had their best classification. Jaume Masiá, who in the end managed to qualify directly for Q2, will start twelfth, just behind Alonso López, who led the third free practice sessions but was unable to progress further in the standings. Raúl Fernández and Sergio García also participated in Q2, although he will start 16th and 17th respectively.
As to Friday's matchday reveal Kevin Zannoni, the Italian wild card has deflated on this saturday. After finishing with the second best time in free practice on Friday, he will start tomorrow from fifteenth position, and with the points as a difficult goal.
Continuing with the Spanish, only two have failed to be in Q2. They are Albert Arenas, who will start twenty-second, and Vicente Pérez, which is going to come out twenty-eighth. Both are going to have to improve a lot if they want to qualify for the points in tomorrow's race, in which the slip-ups will be decisive.
