The Harley-Davidson LiveWire It is one of the sensations of the season. The first great electric motorcycle of a brand of a lifetime is about to reach dealerships and the expectation generated is logical and enormous.

The Harley-Davidson LiveWire will arrive next September at a confirmed price of 33,700 euros. A motorcycle that is possibly one of the most disruptive that we have in memory as it represents a turning point in the trajectory of the Milwaukee firm.

Free dynamic testing to maximize impact

Apart from being a totally different product from what they had in their portfolio to date, Harley-Davidson has been losing market share for years and watching their income dwindle, so they need a revulsive that puts them in the spotlight. They intend to achieve this media impact through LiveWire and they will do everything possible to maximize the sales of their first electric motorcycle.

Finally and after several corrections in its technical specifications, the Harley-Davidson LiveWire will try to dazzle with relatively modest figures: a range of up to 235 km that remain in 152 km in mixed driving according to the WMTC cycle, a power of 105 hp (78 kW) and a torque of 116 Nm.

Seeking a counterattack against the negative response of the staunch Harley-Davidson fans who have seen in LiveWire a product contrary to its principles, the brand will launch the networks in very different fishing grounds, so it will make available to those interested LiveWire test drives.

It will be the next few days August 20-21 at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee (Wisconsin, USA), between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (local time). There, all who come are harlistas or not will be able to request a dynamic test of this spectacular electric motorcycle.

Pre-reservations have not yet been completed

In reality, this maneuver is an advertising staging, a new showcase to expand the impact of a motorcycle that is going to have it quite difficult if it wants to be successful in the market and change the luck of Harley-Davidson to, incidentally, ensure the future of a brand created in 1903.

For the moment, Harley-Davidson has ensured that of the 500 initial pre-orders made available to interested parties about half completed. It has not been a success, but it has not been a failure either. Within a few weeks of its commercial launch, Harley-Davidson was probably expecting a better reception.

The path of Harley-Davidson's electric motorcycles is not going to end with LiveWire and the firm is already preparing a segment for more urban and idle small motorcycles. A new approach where LiveWire is a fundamental pillar that has to be strong enough to sustain the rest of the zero-emission models to come.

We can't wait to test the LiveWire and see what the bike that has come out of the mold in Milwaukee is capable of. What is clear is that some crucial months for the American firm and that their future will depend on them.
