Technology 2.0 is penetrating motorcycles little by little and more and more manufacturers include technological innovations among the equipment of their models that lead us to an interconnected world on two wheels. Is now KTM who offers us an interesting novelty so that we do not get lost in their motorcycles and that is that the most modern Austrian may incorporate GPS navigation.
Until now, the KTM My Ride system offered for orange motorcycles equipped with the TFT digital dashboard the possibility of linking our smartphone via Bluetooth to control the call or music functions from the left pineapple. From this moment on, some of the models, six in particular, will also be able to benefit from a new application with which, in the most adventurous models, follow the directions to our destination.

The models that support this new system will be the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S and Super Adventure R in their 2018 versions, but it will also be backward compatible with previous models through a simple update at no cost to the user. You will simply have to download the KTM My Ride app (with a cost of 8, 99 euros), install it, link it with our motorcycle and let us guide to the point we have selected.
Each route can be planned in advance from the smartphone so that the system shows us step-by-step directions on the screen or through the helmet's headphones if they are worn. The connection is made by Bluetooth so no data connection necessary in progress, being able to download the cartography previously to use it offline. In addition, 128 waypoints can be added to each route to mark off-road sections.

The parameters that will appear on the screen will be the following:
- Step-by-step route instructions using arrows
- Distance to next change of direction
- Name of the next street
- Arrival time at the final destination
- Distance to final destination

The same application is available for receive or reject calls (The application does not allow access to the agenda or outgoing calls, a point in its favor to avoid unnecessary distractions) and perform the music controls if we wear a helmet equipped for this purpose in the 125 Duke, 390 Duke and 1290 Super Duke models A. In the newcomer KTM 790 Duke it can also be used, but only after having installed a hardware that in this particular model is optional.
