As every year around this time, although this time a little early, MV Agusta has once again brought us a delight with which the brand intends to continue competing in the Superbike World Championship. It's about the MV Agusta F4 RC, the replica motorcycle with which Leon camier He will play a new season at the WSBK battling against firms with much more resources.
Assembled piece by piece with the same care that the Reparto Corse employs on Camier's racing bikes, the F4 RC is at the same time meticulous attention to detail, sublime design and the drive to become one of the most radical sports cars in the world. all time with a power of 212 horses, the most powerful standard four-cylinder without supercharging.
MV Agusta F4 RC: racing DNA
The proudest Italian racing spirit plunges into a machine that is exceeded year after year. The F4 may be one of the most beautiful stock bikes ever made, but the RC version borders on the aphrodisiac thanks to an image that goes hand in hand with a mechanic without any compromise.
On the outside, its body of thermoplastic material and carbon fiber receives a special decoration with the corporate tones of MV Agusta and the Italian flag, complemented by some black details and the new forged aluminum light alloy wheels also painted in red with the rim trimmed in white and the number 37 in honor of the Varese brand world titles.
Inside it beats a shocking propellant inherited from the Reparto Corse, a four-cylinder engine and 998 cubic centimeters called Corsa Corta for its internal dimensions of 79x50, 9 mm with central timing chain and radial valves.
Thanks to its Screamer configuration, the F4 RC can achieve superb stock power of no less than 205 horses, being able to expand another 7 additional cv, up to 212 horses, thanks to the use of a specific power kit that is delivered at no additional cost with the model and whose icing is a beautiful 4-1 SC-Project titanium exhaust.
Inside the crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods are lightened, the cylinder head ducts are new, the covers are made of magnesium and the anchors are titanium.
The electronic brain of the F4 RC has been optimized to get the best possible out of fascinating mechanics, whether for riding on the track or enjoying roads open to traffic. Electronic throttle sensitivity, torque delivery, engine brake, maximum power or speed limiter can be independently calibrated.
The Inertial Measurement Platform (IMU) with three gyroscopes and three accelerometers is paired with the EAS 2.0 system to control ABS when cornering and traction control, whether under braking or acceleration. It also equips bi-directional quickshifter so its lucky owner doesn't have to worry about the clutch anymore.
At the chassis level MV Agusta continues to rely on its traditional multitubular steel structure attached to aluminum plates light. In this lower part, the single-sided swingarm can adjust the height of the pivot axis and become the ideal ally for the adjustments of the multi-adjustable suspensions.
Ahead the inverted fork is a Öhlins NIX 30 EC with TiN antifriction treatment with bars of 43 millimeters and 120 mm of travel, while the rear axle relies on a progressive monoshock Öhlins TTX 36 with another 120mm of travel.
If the suspensions are black leg, the brakes could not be less with a front team signed by Brembo with 320 mm discs bitten by GP four-piston radial-mount monobloc calipers of 30 mm commanded by a pump also radial and metallic hoses. On the rear axle, the disc is 210 mm and the caliper is Nissin, both managed by the Bosch 9 Plus control unit with competition mode and anti-bite system.
The rest of the F4 RC trinkets can be found in carbon fiber body parts, a specific wooden transport box that will be delivered to the customer, specific control unit, fast gas cap, carbon fiber paraheating, tail, light hardware, a certificate of authenticity and a cover.
And about the price, don't expect it to be cheap. At the moment the amount is unknown, so it will foreseeably be revealed at the next Milan Motor Show.
