Every time brands listen to what their customers want, they realize that the concept of a motorcycle as a simple means of transport is far from being true. Motorcycles have become a style icon (or fashion, or representation of the personality, call it what you want) gaining weight the plastic aspect but without neglecting the operation.
With increasingly elaborate motorcycles and designers striving to make the most attractive of frames in each segment, Yamaha have seen one of their latest creations win a prestigious design award. The Yamaha XSR900 has been awarded the "Best of Best" of the Red Dot Award Product Design 2017.
Yamaha XSR900: functionality and design

It is not the first recognition the XSR900 has received, as the Japanese may be happy to have achieved others such as the Good Design BEST100, Auto Color Award 2016, JIDA Design Museum Selection Vol. 18 and the iF Design Award. Without going any further, last year it was Ducati who proclaimed himself worthy of this award after the launch of the beautiful Ducati XDiavel.
In the Yamaha XSR900 it is converted to the aggressive Yamaha MT-09 from which it derives on a motorcycle much more stylish, with a concept influenced in equal parts with the most modern trends and vintage reminiscences. The result is a motorcycle with the latest technology and a cycle part but with an aesthetic reminiscent of the classic motorcycles of the 60s and 70s.

Best of all, as a classic-looking bike, it doesn't give up on being exciting. Its 847 cc three-cylinder engine and crossplane crankshaft raises power to a fantastic 115 hp that not only runs but can be harnessed thanks to an aluminum double-sided chassis, electronic throttle, power map selection system D-Mode, traction control, adjustable quality suspensions or the double disc braking system and radial anchor calipers, all for a price of 10,499 euros.
