In Borgo Panigale they have also got their hands on the little sister of their superbikes and now we find a Ducati 959 Panigale more respectful with the environment, complying with Euro 4, but it does not renounce its sporting qualities in the least.

Almost all changes focus on the remodeled 955 cubic centimeter propeller and its extra power, but what is most striking is undoubtedly the main aesthetic change it receives in the exhaust line. The right side is now dominated by a pair of prominent silencers in conventional position. What a change!

The Superquadro thruster has been thoroughly revised to be greener. The increase in displacement to 955 cubic centimeters is motivated to offset the more restrictive Euro 4 regulation. The intention that they have wanted to print on this two-cylinder is for it to be a performance unit but kinder on a day-to-day basis than its older sisters and without sacrificing great performance on the track.

Our old acquaintance sees the maximum power raised slightly to 157 horses at 10,500 revolutions per minute for 176 kilos drywhile the maintenance intervals remain unchanged every 24,000 kilometers.

At an aesthetic level we can find a redesigned front and a new tail but maintaining the main lines of the older Panigale, with which it also shares the monocoque chassis, engine as a structural part and a top-notch technology which includes Ducati Quick Shift, Ducati Traction Control, Engine Brake Control, ABS braking with three levels, electronic throttle and different driving modes.

As we said, the fairing has suffered some subtle changes that improve aerodynamics with a wider nose and canopy to better protect the rider. The air intakes at the front are now slightly larger as well and the mirrors are new. The tail has also gone through the design department and new machined aluminum footpegs are mounted for a better grip on the boots.

But without a doubt the element that attracts the most attention on an aesthetic level is the new exhaust system with a large double silencer that occupies a good part of the right side and leaves its position on the usual keel of the Panigale. It has an air of that modification that we saw for the Japanese homologation, and a lot will have to do with the Euro 4 standard, but it is sure that it is an element that drives back more than one potential buyer.

In the absence of hearing it in person, the sound may change considerably, although surely the dynamic qualities are still superb as we already verified in its day.

For the rest, the cycle part remains unchanged with a Brembo team with 320-millimeter discs bitten by two monobloc radially anchored calipers. Brembo M4.32 that receive the pressure of a brake pump also of radial type.

For the rear wheel, the 245-millimeter brake and single-piston caliper remain unchanged. The steering damper is provided by Sachs and Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tires come in sizes 120 at the front and 180 at the rear.
