The first race of the year MotoGP World Championship has left the flag very high. With a career of Moto3 in which we have been able to see a lot of overtaking and excitement until the last breath. Also literally.

When all eyes were on the official KTM, Niccolò Antonelli has managed to get a great first victory of the year out of his sleeve by going to Brad binder on the same finish line. And closing the positions of honor, a fantastic Pecco bagnaia with the Mahindra. Three different bikes on the podium.

War between rookies and veterans

Romano Fenati executed a perfect start from pole and, although Livio Lio was ahead of him midway through the first lap, the number five number kept the first position after returning the maneuver with authority.

Attached to Loi's wheel came a dense platoon headed by Brad Binder, Jorge Navarro and many others. The problem as always for the Moto3 leaders came when they faced the finish line for the first time. With the sneak war unleashed, it was Brad Binder who took first place while Fenati sank to fifth place and Loi to tenth.

Niccolò Bulega's fantastic performance in his first career as a World Cup has made him dream of victory. A lot of attention to this boy

In the next step by goal was Jorge Navarro the one who squeezed his Honda to take first position, although the lead would not last long after being passed two corners later by Binder and his official KTM. In third position Antonelli appeared with very consistent first laps without letting anyone escape from the front, while from behind we once again had Fenati recovering meters.

Once again the home straight was wreaking havoc and Romano Fenati was catapulting up to first place in a very smart maneuver after overtaking the other three riders who were running in parallel just before braking.

To these four protagonists Pecco Bagnaia also joined and they began to pick up the pace. No member of the quintet managed to escape and in each step through the goal positions were exchanged without bothering too much during the rest of the circuit.

Little by little and with a lot of effort, there were two pilots who were able to detach from the pursuing platoon and go hunting for the head of the race: Niccolo Bulega and Livio Loi. Bulega did manage to neutralize the distance and get into the fight, but the recovery effort took its toll on Loi and he did not finish contacting.

If the new Mahindras maintain the performance that Pecco Bagnaia has shown in the first race with her, we can see a more open championship than normal in Moto3

With a group now made up of six pilots (Binder, Fenati, Bagnaia, Navarro, Bulega and Antonelli) each step at the finish line got even more exciting. The exchanges of position became more frequent as everyone wanted to get in front and shoot. But nobody was leaving, it was impossible.

Five laps to go, hostilities broke out. Bulega was put in first position for the first time in his life as a debutant in the Moto3 World Championship and he started fighting with Binder and Fenati. But here there were no rookies, no teammates, no veterans.

Fenati was in first position with three to go, Binder got second after hitting him ax to Bulega and, without cutting himself too much, the rookie returned the maneuver to them both and returned to position first. Unfortunately, everyone wanted to win, and things got complicated. The KTM one fell to fifth position and both Livio Loi and Enea Bastianini managed to contact, forming a pack of eight riders.

At the beginning of the last lap Binder he had gained enough meters to keep the slipstreams at bay and was preparing to defend the first position. Antonelli took advantage of a wash from Fenati and placed second while the one from KTM fell to sixth place.

Niccolò Antonelli's maneuver may have been instinctive, but it was to blame for his first win of the year.

Bagnaia He also progressed and put Navarro's motorcycle to place third with Estrella Galicia's 0, 0 glued to his wheel and a small gap on Bulega. They held positions during curves, everyone wanted to wait until they reached the finish line to catch the slipstreams.

When it seemed like Binder had done it absolutely flawlessly to get enough momentum to defend the top spot, Antonelli he was doing a masterful maneuver. He took advantage of the slipstream on the first section of the straight and when he had enough inertia he changed the trajectory to find the clean part of the track and overtake Binder by seven thousandths second.

In third position entered Pecco bagnaia, thus achieving with his new Mahindra the second podium of his sporting career in Moto3. Fourth was Romano Fenati and fifth finally Enea Bastianini after the push of the last lap.
