It was on March 31, 1996 when a young and lanky pilot, named Valentino and last name Rossi debuted in the 125 World Championship, specifically in the Malaysian circuit of Shah Alam. He did not do it badly since he finished in sixth position, just behind Emilio Alzamora. But on his way and during the course of the fourth round, he had a run-in with one of the heavyweights of the category: Jorge Martínez 'Aspar'.

And when we refer to collision, we speak literally since the Italian rammed him, leaving him out of the first race. After the checkered flag, both 'Aspar' and Angel Nieto they were going to ask Valentino Rossi for an explanation for his maneuver. And as he himself recounted in his biography, it was so funny to see those short people jumping and stroking in front.

Years have passed, 17 nothing more and nothing less and the paths of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Martínez 'Aspar' meet again, but in another way. The Italian hand in hand with his brand, VR46, has created the VR46 Racing Academy. With it, it will cover young pilots from the start, both sportingly, legally, logistically, at an advisory level, etc.

The best drivers in the school they will make the leap to the CEV, and this is where Jorge Martínez 'Aspar' will come into play, since they will do it within his team, the Aspar Team. In this way and with one of the best teams in the world, they will continue their learning to reach the World Championship.

At the moment Luca marini, brother of Valentino Rossi, will race next year within the structure of the Aspar Team next year. This year and after taking advantage of the world championship in the Misano Adriatico event as in the CEV itself in Albacete, he will return to be at the last round in Jerez on 22 November.
