This weekend will take place the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Dunlop, as a supplier to 33 of the 61 teams that will participate in the French race, they can once again win the title of World Endurance Champions. It will be the first match ball, although at the moment the chances are somewhat remote. Even so, they will try to achieve it with a new rear tire.
This tire was already tested in the race by the R2CL team at Suzuka and Oschersleben. Later, the rest of the teams were able to test them for the first time in the official Le Mans tests. There the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT) achieved the best time of all.
Precisely SERT leads the provisional classification of the championship with a 13-point advantage over his pursuers. With 40 points at stake, the first five have a chance of taking the title although the carom for the Suzuki team to take it is complicated: they need to add at least 36 points and that the other first four do not score.
Going back to new Dunlop rear tire, the features that have been improved have been the handling but maintaining the stability, grip and sensations of the previous constructions.
As to Superstock, Dunlop also has a chance of taking the title as he takes care of the top four teams in the standings that only have two other contenders with a real chance of winning the World Endurance Championship.
Penz13.com is the current leader having won the Oschersleben race. Second is the Motors Events April Moto. Meanwhile, the junior team LMS Suzuki, champion of the Bol d´Or, is third after the problems suffered in Germany. In fourth position is the AM Moto Racing Competition team.
This weekend is going to be exciting.
