This weekend in particular today Friday and tomorrow Saturday, there will be a wide program of activities for all audiences at the Barcelona Motorcycle Museum that includes lectures, a tribute meal to those who participated in the 24-hour race and an original relay tour with electric bikes through the city center. All this within the framework of the new temporary exhibition dedicated to the 24 Hours of Montjuic Motorcyclists.
During 24 hours, a multitude of events such as conferences, tributes, contests, documentary and film screenings will take place without interruption. The party will start on Friday 16 at 20 hours And it will end on Saturday the 17th at the same time, looking for parallels with this mythical test that was held on the urban layout of Barcelona from 1955 to 1986.
All the scheduled events are open to the public, which will be able to choose various entry modalities depending on the schedule (morning, afternoon and evening), participate in specific activities or acquire a permanent 24-hour pass. New motorcycles that are incorporated into the historic exhibition will also be presented.
But undoubtedly one of its main attractions will be the events scheduled outside the museum such as those in Plaça Nova in Barcelona, where the boxes will be set up to carry out the Electric bike laps relays through the city downtown. The challenge is to get relays throughout the 24 hours, or collaborator tents, a stand where the pilots will sign autographs and an area reserved for children's activities, such as a bicycle circuit for the little ones and a drawing workshop.
For the first time they have met a score of motorcycles that participated in the race, including several winners. Until July 2013, visitors will be able to learn the secrets of the event and discover what the boxes, trophies and countless objects related to the competition were like. Also on display is a sample of original posters from all the years given by the Peña Motorista Barcelona, the organizer of the 24 hours throughout its history.
