The World Superbike event in Portimao is officially confirmed, thank goodness

I have finally rested calmly. And it is that I had been hearing rumors for weeks about the possibility that the appointment that he World Superbikes has in the circuit Portimao, next September, was canceled due to the economic problems that the precious Autodromo Internacional do Algarve. So much so, that yesterday Infront Motor Sports came out of these rumors and issued a statement officially confirming the dispute of this essential test for the championship this year is the penultimate), and more as it is hot right now with the fight between Max biaggi and Marco Melandri.

In these days I have heard how he told you about everything, from the total cancellation of the Portimao test, leaving the championship with one less test on the calendar, until if it was suspended in Portuguese lands, the test would be held in the Jerez Circuit. And although it is true that this last thing to me is not that it was very bad for me, I prefer that from September 21 to 23 Let Superbikes roar again at a circuit that has been on the calendar since 2008 and has an excellent organization, as I was able to see first-hand last year.

Needless to say, if everything goes as it should, I will repeat the experience and I will be one of the many who will visit Portimao that weekend, I can assure you that it is well worth it. So this news is good for everyone: for the championship, for all of us and for the circuit itself, which has made a great effort so that, despite the tough economic times, the Superbikes will once again set foot on Portuguese soil. The only thing that saddens me is to think that this year has been saved, but that it will be difficult to continue on the calendar for 2013. But hey, let's not anticipate events and enjoy this 2012 a show that is worth looking where you look at it.
