Cologne Show 2012: new modular helmet Schuberth C3 Pro

In the recent Cologne Hall 2012In addition to news in the motorcycle segment, we have also seen some news in other areas such as helmets. There the German company Schuberth took the opportunity to present his new modular helmet called Schuberth C3 Pro, specially designed for travel and even sporty driving since there are very few specific models for this motorcycle segment.

They have tried to maintain the maximum stability, even for speeds above 160 km / h (we are in Germany, I know you). The deflector integrated in the shell and the straight lower edge allow a better grip and a upward trend very close to zeroCome on, it won't seem like it goes out of your head like others; meanwhile, the directional stability is also very good, allowing the head to turn without feeling aerodynamic forces. its wind resistance, very studied in tunnels, it is low and if our motorcycle has a fairing, the buffeting effect or what is the same, of turbulence is also reduced.

Schuberth C3 Pro design

The outer shell of the Schuberth C3 Pro, in two different sizes, is made of the well-known fiber of the German manufacturer S.T.R.O.N.G. It is manufactured by compression molding from glass fiber and a special resin compressed under high pressure vacuum conditions, providing it with great resistance. This technique allows to reduce the total weight of the helmet.

The inside It is made of EPS foam and with a modular design so that in case of impact it absorbs maximum energy and above them, an interior made of Coolmax and Thermocool with coatings made of Interpower to achieve good cooling and comfort. Of course it is removable, washable at 30ยบ, antiallergic and antibacterial.

The closing It is by means of Micro-lock ratchet with strap adjustment on both sides to prevent the closure from being displaced to one side. As a complement in search of greater safety, like the rest of the Schuberth helmets, the nape area has silver-tone inserts made of reflective material.

The viewfinder it can be changed very easily without tools. Its double layer technology allows it to be free of condensation but for extreme climates or driving conditions in the city, it can be equipped with the Pinlock system. As a complement, the helmet shell incorporates a sun visor for high light conditions.

Schuberth C3 Pro acoustics

One of the details that the people of Schuberth take into account the most is his acoustic isolation. To do this, they subject all their helmets to countless sessions in wind tunnels since one of the causes of fatigue on long trips is precisely the exhaustion produced by aerodynamic noise.

The Schuberth C3 Pro Despite being modular, it achieves that, for example in naked motorcycles, the interior noise level is only 82 dBA at 100 km / h. And this without the lower air deflector that is delivered unassembled and that still reduces these figures even more.

Schuberth C3 Pro Ventilation

The Schuberth C3 Pro It incorporates within the EPS shell itself a multitude of ducts so that the air can reach all areas of our head from the intake located on the chin, visor and crown.

The ventilation channels Arranged in the inner shell, they direct the air that penetrates through the ventilation holes located on the forehead, until it reaches the back of the helmet and the nape of the neck. The low pressures that prevail at the back of the helmet cause the air contained inside to be constantly expelled, evacuated through the air vents and the special mesh insert integrated into the neck padding. With this it is possible to exchange up to nine liters of fresh air when driving at 100 km / h.

Is available in four colors: satin black, matt black, satin white and satin gray. Its total weight is 1570 gr. and it is available in sizes from XXS (50/51) to XXXL (64/65)
