We return to Motormanía with the SYM Joymax 300i GTS very happy because we have verified that the new motorcycle of the Taiwanese brand has taken a step further compared to the predecessor models. It shows that SYM has put all the meat on the spit In a displacement that, personally, I think is the most appropriate for someone who has to combine city tours with road trips, for example to get to and from home. In the video that I put below we can see that as we had said, it defends itself perfectly in an area of ​​curves.

Just as it seems to me a bit limited to buy a 125 if for example we live 30 or 40 km from our work, buying a 500 to make 70% of our tour of the city is to kill flies with cannon shots. And unless we can afford to keep a twin ripping off pieces of wheel at each exit from the traffic lights we will end up selling it after it has bled us little by little.

This is not the case with SYM for example, especially with regard to average consumption measured during testing. Although it may seem surprising, with approximately the same route that I do to all the bikes, the SYM Joymax 300i GTS gave us a consumption of only 3.85 l / 100 which translates into aautonomy of more than 300 kilometers with a single tank. I managed to cover 270 kilometers before the reserve was broken, a really surprising and fantastic figure for the times.

As the deposit is in the platform area, under the seat we have an important space to store objects. Two full face helmets and a few more bags fit perfectly without any problem. The seat can be opened from a remote button that we have on the left hand side or from the contact lock itself by turning it to the left. Under the seat we also find a circuit breaker to immobilize the vehicle and make it a little more difficult for thieves.

The seat is kept elevated thanks to a hydraulic on the right side. The hole is equipped with courtesy light and is fully lined, thus avoiding scratches, for example, on the helmet or the objects that we carry underneath make noise when moving from one side to the other.

Although the capacity is almost perfect, I have to put a but to it. The gap is divided in two when closed, approximately at the height of where the passenger backrest is located. This prevents us from carrying a backpack for example tucked under the seat since we will not be able to close it. If it is not for this little detail it would be almost perfect.

Smaller people will have no problem driving the SYM Joymax 300i GTS since although the seat is at 760 mm, the platform has a few recesses at the rear that allows you to reach perfectly with both feet on the ground.

The most observant will have seen that the front brake equips the track and what the ABS sensor looks like but nevertheless I have not talked at all about equipping the anti-lock braking system. And so it is, although we do not rule out that later they will release a model equipped with it. In this case ABS track serves for speedometer and is that to offer the best quality price, some pieces are shared with other models of the house.

Thus costs are reduced and that the final price is very competitive. In the same way that the brake disc is shared with other motorcycles, the same happens with the pinecones and we can see that the holes where the mirrors go in other models have been hidden by rubber plugs. Some user of the exquisite pijoflorido will say that he cannot tolerate it but when you see the quality of the finish of all the plastics and adjustments, your impression changes completely. You do not have to envy anything to other scooters from other brands.

There are only two areas that do not match the rest of the qualities of the SYM Joymax 300i GTS: the glove compartment cover and the fuel tank cover. Both they look a bit flimsy, made of thin plastic and the buttons to activate them are not as fine as they should, costing them to open a little more than necessary. Surely the people at SYM are already working on it for their next model.

Finally the price. The SYM Joymax 300i GTS currently has a suggested retail price of 4.099 € which shows me again that the sale price compared to the quality that I have been able to verify and its benefits place it as one of the benchmarks of the segment without a doubt, and a very interesting purchase option for a very balanced motorcycle in all aspects.
