The season of the MX3 World Championship 2012 on Valkenswaard, The Netherlands, one of the meccas of motocross. The small category closed on a Monday of races that had started with the MX1 and MX2 (which we will talk about shortly) and that had left the arena of the circuit quite battered. It still got worse because time took a breather until the second set in which the rain discharged on the circuit and it made things very difficult for the pilots.
Three Spaniards took part in the World Cup event: Txomin Arana, Ramón Brucart and Joan Cros although the first two did not make the cut in the classification that allows the 40 fastest drivers to take part in the race. Of all of them the fastest was the Belgian Kevin Wouts followed by his compatriot Yentel martens. These two pilots would precisely divide the first and second place in the Dutch Grand Prix, just ahead of the German Matias Walkner.
In the first sleeve, although Kevin Wouts tried to come back from a bad start to catch up with Yentel martensIt was impossible for him and he had to settle for second position, just over eight seconds away. Third was local Honda rider Ceriel Klein Kromhof.
In the second sleeve It started to rain, and the water choked Yentel Martens who wrecked up to fifth place. Who found himself like a fish in water was Kevin Wouts, which was done with the victory in the sleeve and with it in the GP and placed leader of the provisional general classification. Matias Walker, who had not done very well in the first round, signed a creditable second place that allowed him to get on the podium.
One of the favorites to take the title, the Finnish Antti pyrhonen He was not very fine and after a fourth and eighth place, he had to settle for a fifth place overall.
As to Joan Cros, closed his participation in the Grand Prix of Holland with two twenty-eighth places.
The next appointment is this Sunday, April 15 in Castelnau de Levis, France.
