- Moto2: Marc Márquez in everyone's sights
- MotoGP: everyone on the hunt for Casey Stoner
It seemed that it would never arrive, that harsh winters make us long without motorcycles on television to put us in our mouths. And although we have already enjoyed a date from the World Superbikes and from CEV Buckler, this weekend we get the main course: MotoGP World Championship. The preseason training, the pools and the cabals that we have all done are over. Now it is time to witness the first appointment that begins already, from tomorrow, in the Qatari circuit of Losail, and that will have us glued to the television during this long weekend.
As you well know, the 2012 season is full of novelties and unknowns: the new 1,000cc MotoGPs that will share the bill with the nearest future of the CRT, the new category of Moto3, the retransmissions of Telecinco… Anyway, that only Moto2 It does not change but, with how much fun we are having with this category, it is better not to touch anything at the moment. Judging by the cold numbers of the preseason tests (which are always largely right) various names are shuffled as top favorites, see Casey Stoner, Marc Marquez or Maverick Viñales. But let's not rush it because the season is long overdue, let's go step by step, let's start with this first date.
Moto3: Maverick Viñales will want to show his cards from the start
There is no doubt that one of the strong points of this 2012 is to see the new Moto3 category in operation and observe how the new 250cc four-strokes behave, although it seems that they are not bad at all. And it is clear that one of the proper names of the preseason has been Maverick Viñales, which has also gone from less to more to end up becoming the benchmark. Obviously, for sure starting the year at the top goes through his head and getting on the road to the title, let's not forget it is its purpose this season. Of course, he will not be the only one who wants to start winning, and seen what we have seen, there are other names that we will have to take into account.
Starting with the two guys from Red Bull KTM Ajo, Sandro Cortese and Danny Kent, who have been very strong also in this preseason. And of course, I also put in the head group Alberto Moncayo, Although he was a little behind in the last tests, he has also shown that he can fight for the podium in every race. Nor can we forget pilots like the surprising Romano Fenati, Miguel Oliveira, Álex Rins or Zulfahmi Khairuddin. But come on, we can prepare for more than one surprise this season, that's for sure. With this panorama, this is my pool for this first race:
- 1. Maverick Viñales
- 2. Danny Kent
- 3. Alberto Moncayo
Moto2: Marc Márquez in everyone's sights
It is not necessary for me to come here now to tell you the benefits of the competitive Moto2 category, since it is well known by all who It has been giving us great careers since its premiere two seasons ago. And of course, with last year's champion, Stefan Bradl, In MotoGP, it seems that the crown should go to a Marc Márquez that to point was to get it last year. Of course, Marc's preseason has been very short due to his eye problems derived from the crash at Sepang last year, so we must wait to see him on the track with more peace of mind to see how he really is. But of course, we are talking about Marc, so we can and should hope for the best.
However, the range of possible candidates to win this race is almost endless. Thus, judging from what was seen in preseason, we must have Thomas Luthi, Scott Redding, Claudio Corti (preseason specialist) or a Pol Espargaro which is honestly the one that has surprised me the most, what a leap he has made! But we will not be delusional, and we cannot forget about Andrea Iannone, Toni Elías (who wants to regain the throne in 2010) or Julito Simon, we hope luck will accompany you. You will also have to be attentive to what they do Nico Terol and Johann zarco. This is my podium for the race:
- 1. Thomas Luthi
- 2. Marc Marquez
- 3. Pol Espargaró
MotoGP: everyone on the hunt for Casey Stoner
And we reached the premier class, where despite the change in displacement to 1,000cc it seems that little has changed compared to what we saw last year. Casey stoner has dominated from start to finish throughout the entire preseason, and has shown that he knows how to carry the Sling (and any motorcycle) to the limit. The truth is that seeing him it seems that he does the times how and when he wants, although this time it does seem that the Yamaha they are more closer.
A) Yes, Jorge Lorenzo He is the other great candidate for the final title, seeing as he is closer and we already know that he puts everything the bike lacks to be on top, which we saw last year until his fall. Let's also hope that Dani pedrosa do not have any physical problems in this campaign and can fight until the end for a title that resists you (like that of yacht skipper, hehe). Easy jokes aside, and this is almost more personal, I really really hope we see Valentino rossi with your new Ducati Desmosedici GP12 fight assiduously this year for the podium, because if that's the case, we will all come out ahead of the show. You will also have to be very aware of what you do Álvaro Bautista, that he has the opportunity to continue showing us what this boy has grown as a pilot in Suzuki. We do not forget pilots like Ben spies or Andrea Dovizioso, as well as that world called CRT and that seems to control at the moment Randy de Puniet. Here is my pool for this Sunday:
- 1. Casey Stoner
- 2. Jorge Lorenzo
- 3. Valentino Rossi
So this is it, everything is ready for the 2012 MotoGP season to begin with the always eye-catching Qatar night race. We will see how things are happening, but yes, I only have one wish, that we only talk about excitement, overtaking and racing, no sad news to tell. Well, nothing, we already started and remember, do not stop walking through this page to see everything that is cooked in the races. Let's start now!
Cheer up Joan!
