Michelin Power Pure SC, the world's first bi-rubber scooter tire

Michelin has just launched a new tire that uses bi-rubber technology for the first time in the scooter segment, the Michelin Power Pure SC. For this, it has applied all the MICHELIN 2CT (Dual Compound Technology) technology in which driving pleasure, sporty behavior, grip and durability are combined, thus becoming the first «Sport Premium» tire in the scooter segment on its own merits. In 2006 it already applied this same technology outside the circuits in its range Michelin Pilot Power 2CT.

The user of the scooter has a very defined profile, with daily use of the vehicle and almost always (78%) for work-related trips. That is why they need the tires to be safe regardless of the weather, especially in urban traffic where grip levels tend to be more compromised than on other types of roads.

In addition, many of these users either have another motorcycle with a larger displacement or come from another segment, so the use of the scooter does not prevent them from wanting to take advantage of their sports benefits, especially when we approach displacements close to half a liter. But in no case should the duration be compromised.

To do this, in the Michelin Power Pure SC Once again, the solution of dividing the tire into different zones and applying types of rubber adapted to the different stresses to which each one is subjected have been applied. The central slick band on the front and rear tires offers more rubber in the requested area for a scooter user, thus providing longer duration.

The shoulder areas of the tire are softer to provide greater grip and therefore more security. In this way, the tire Michelin Power Pure SC provides excellent grip, even in poor road conditions (wet, damp or slippery surface).

Regarding the pattern applied on the tread surface, this derives directly from fountain type sculpture applied to racing tires Michelin Power Rain, achieving a fast and optimal drainage of the water that is housed under the tire.
