The Sachsenring circuit could say goodbye to the MotoGP World Championship

We still don't know anything about the official 2012 calendar in MotoGP, although we have a good idea of what it will be like. However, there are serious possibilities that the German circuit of Sachsenring is not among the chosen next year. The reasons? Well, the usual, economic problems that make this appointment unsustainable. The truth is that it would be a real shame, since personally it is one of my favorite circuits in the world championship, and we have to admit it, on the Playstation it gives me a fable, hehe.

The point is that ADAC (The organizers of the test) offered a press conference yesterday where they presented the red numbers of the appointment of this year 2011. Nothing less than 600,000 euros of losses, which is said soon. And that is because more than 230,000 people attended the German Grand Prix and increased prices by 10%. As if all this were not enough, it is time to renew the rate with Dorna, and this has risen from two million euros to four million, so it is not necessary to have studied mathematics to see that the numbers do not come out in any way.

As I was saying, there is nothing definitive yet, although everything seems to indicate that we will lose a Sachsenring from the calendar, which has been part of the World Championship since 1998 on its current route. Of course, now the bets begin, because someone will have to replace it and Germany must have a World Cup event. Names like the mythical Nurburgring or that of Lausitzring (which we already saw in Superbikes) have already come to the fore. We will have to wait for the official confirmations to arrive. A shame…
