Ducati Monster 796, the test: conclusions and photo gallery

The Ducati Monster 796 He has not let me down. It is a bike that I wanted to try and it has exceeded expectations with flying colors. Remarkable high. As I mentioned during the test, I think that in a short time it will become the best-selling version of the range. It has an engine with good performance, details improved compared to the initial version and an aesthetic that makes you fall in love.

The word that best defines the Monster 796 from my point of view is Balance. It is a balanced motorcycle that allows you to have several motorcycles in one: suitable for urban use, fabulous to enjoy on a curvy road, adaptable for a somewhat longer getaway and even fun to do a round of circuits.

Ducati Monster 796, a motorcycle for everything

However, as a balanced motorcycle that it is, it has to have compromises to meet the desires of each other, and many of the criticisms may come from these extremes: those who like to go to the circuit will miss a few more horses, those who want to make long trips will criticize the lack of protection against the air or for urban use will be missing some load capacity. The important thing is that it complies more than reasonably well in almost all functions, but always bearing in mind that it is not a specialized motorcycle.

The theme of the load capacity in urban use It is more serious than where to put the luggage to make a trip, that you can always find a solution. I am not convinced to carry a backpack or a shoulder bag daily, but I am sure there will be people who will solve it in a reasonable way for them.

Ducati makes a show of confidence important towards the motorcycle, taking the maintenance distance at intervals of 12000 kms. It is an important figure that shows the quality that Ducati has achieved today, far from the old fames it had in the past. Is about reliable and well-built motorcycles, with a quality comparable to any other motorcycle in its segment. Therefore, perhaps it is time to let yourself be carried away by the heart and passion, aspects in which the Italian brand is queen.

The Monster 796 test it was finally a love story that it didn't have an easy start. When I was riding the bike towards Santa Fé del Montseny without really understanding it or feeling comfortable in its peculiar riding position, I was not very clear that the 796 and I were going to get along well. Instead, shortly after I felt as if I already took many miles on it. It was an intense afternoon with many, many curves and a crush included.

But as always happens in these tests, when you get along better with the bike is when it's time to return it. A pity, why I really liked the Monster, even the colors of the unit that I had to drive. It was a beautiful story that brought me closer to a brand that I have not ridden too much, and I was left wanting to know more. Ducati passion.
