On Moto22 We always try to be as up-to-date as possible when it comes to market news, and how could it be otherwise, we have tested the Vectrix VX-1 to be able to tell you first-hand how this is of a two-wheeled electric vehicle. The test really began when I found out that the local police in some towns in the province of Alicante were evaluating this motorcycle to incorporate it into their fleet. Without further ado, I contacted the company that was conducting these demonstrations and got them to loan me one for a few days. The first contact with the motorcycle was in Crevillente, where it is MotorturinSpecialists in police vehicles, José, the owner, attended to me there, who very kindly showed me how this type of motorcycle works.
The first impression
The first thing you appreciate is that it is quite large, very similar in size to a Suzuki Burgman 650. The set is presided over by a large seat at a height of 800 mm from the ground that leaves you with your legs wide open, but very comfortable. As soon as you sit on it, the handlebar controls are very close at hand, adopting a very comfortable position.

The instrument panel is divided into three large spheres, with digital indication of the battery charge on the right one, the analog speedometer on the central one, with a display that contains the total and two partial kilometer counter and finally we find a Sphere on the left that indicates the time, the status of the engine, the kilometers available with the battery charge and again the total kilometers. The control knobs are quite conventional, finding the general motorcycle shutdown control on the right and the lights, turn signals and horn on the left. In neither of the two do you find an engine start button, because it does not start in the way we are used to. The mirrors are also anchored on the handlebars and give a good image of what is happening behind us. When you go around the bike you can see that it is quite bulky, but without being cumbersome.

The wheels he uses are a PirelliGTS23 in size 12 / 70-14 at the front and a PirelliGTRS23 in size 140 / 60-13 at the rear. Both trains ride a disc brake signed by Brembo, but you soon realize that they are not as necessary as on a conventional motorcycle. The rear suspension is handled by a pair of Sachs shock absorbers, while the front one is a conventional 35 mm telescopic fork signed by Marzocchi, all more than enough for the total weight of the bike, which is 234 kg in running order.

We start the test
To start the motorcycle, you do not have to do anything other than turn the ignition key, take the left and right levers simultaneously and a disk with the word lights up on the engine status dial. GO, which indicates that you can now hit the fist. The first feeling is that the bike is not going anywhere, because it does not vibrate or hear any noise, so it cannot be running. But as soon as you turn, the fist comes out, and quite hard.
After this brief contact with the bike, I agreed that we would meet the following week in Alicante to keep the bike for three days. To be continue…
