Tomorrow promises to be tremendous when it comes to competition, whether on two or four wheels. And qualifying for the British GP tomorrow promises fights and good ones. Poles in MotoGP have been for Valentino Rossi. And if there is a common denominator in all three, it is the closed struggle to achieve each one of them.
With a splendid day in Donington Park in MotoGP, the fight was between Daniel Pedrosa, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi. The last half hour of timing has been a constant time-setting, with everyone lowering their previous fastest lap and swapping positions. For a few moments it seemed that Dani Pedrosa would take pole, but Il Dottore still needed to try to scratch some more position. Jorge Lorenzo also joined the party, and the pulse lasted until the last lap of each of them. Even Rossi nearly dropped his pole time again in the dying moments. Casey Stoner settled for fourth place when he could complete one more lap. From behind, stand out from the fifth to the ninth classified, in order: Andrea Dovizioso, Colin Edwards, Marco Melandri, Toni Elías and James Toseland.
Andrea continues with his progression in the category and overwhelming regularity, Edwards shows that he can be a very dangerous rival in Donington, Melandri who continues to draw water from under the stones with the Hayate-Kawasaki, Toni Elías demonstrating what he could be throughout the whole year (too bad it only shines when its presence is in danger the following year) and James Toseland seems to want to react to his audience. If they start well tomorrow they can give us something to talk about.
