Before analyzing what happened last weekend in the Enduro World Championship held in Mexico, we must emphasize that Oriol Mena has been proclaimed Junior Enduro World Champion in the absence of two tests for the end of the season.
With an almost perfect season, winning in 10 of the 12 tests and finishing second in the other two, Oriol Mena brings home the title that he needed to be world renowned as a benchmark in Enduro.
Regarding the test, both the mechanics and the pilots encountered two conditions to which they are not normally used: on the one hand, the quality of the gasoline is inferior to that used in Europe and on the other, the route was to a height of between 1,800 and 2,000 meters, so the power of the motorcycles was lower.
Enduro 1
The first day we attended an event that I thought was not going to happen this season: Mika Ahola (Honda) was second. At the beginning of the day, he was penalized ten seconds for not being able to start the bike. Very pissed off, he made several mistakes during the special and served the victory on a plate to Antoine meo (Husqvarna), who did not miss the opportunity to climb into the drawer. Julien Gauthier (Husqvarna) fought all day with Ahola, but in the end he could only be third.
The second day was a repetition of the previous one, with an Ahola that started with a ten-second penalty and a victory that was taken again Antoine meo. Simone Albergoni (KTM) got the third box on the podium.
Enduro 2
Juha Salminen (BMW) arrived in Mexico with a new chassis and suspensions. He led the test all morning, but in the end had to give in to the push of Johnny aubert (KTM), while Rodrig Thain (TM) was third.
Johnny aubert he repeated his triumph ahead of Salminen, who is getting closer and closer to victory. Behind, Bartosz Oblucki (Husqvarna) could not hold the third position and was snatched by the Spanish Cristóbal Guerrero (Yamaha).
Enduro 3
Sebastien guillaume (Husqvarna), recovered from his KO in the previous Grand Prix, was winning ahead of Iván Cervantes (KTM) and Christophe Nambotin (GAS-GAS). Much more awake in the first lap, he would be able to accumulate an advantage that would be definitive at the end of the day.
Christophe Namboti could not with Ivan cervantes on the second day, he made an incredible end of the stage, showing that physically he is a step above the rest. Samuli Aro (KTM) was finally third.
Junior
Oriol Mena (Husaberg), as cerebral as ever, took the victory on the first day, which led to a world title with fifth place the next day.
The second day also won, getting the World Championship. Jeremy Joly (Honda) went to the ground breaking his clavicle and leaving the second place to Spanish Victor Guerrero.
