A few days ago I came across this photo on the Hell for Leather blog, and the day before yesterday I stumbled across a blog post 8 black about the galleries of Viçenc Abad. What a discovery this website in which Viçenc shares with the whole world its photos taken in the seventies about the world of motorcycle competitions.

The photo that heads the post is taken in the 24 hours of Montjuic 1976, 33 years ago. The quality of the image may seem poor to some, but I can assure you that it is one of the best photos I have seen in a long time. You have to remember that at that time the photos were taken, then they were developed and on many occasions from a reel of 36 shots one or two or none were saved if you were not very skilled.

The second photo I have chosen is of Ricardo Tormo with the Bultaco 50 Grand Prix in Calafat, participating in the Spanish Championship. Ricardo was an exceptional guy both on and off the circuits, and in this photo you can clearly see the extreme fragility of these tiny motorcycles capable of taking riders to terrifying speeds, on narrow tires like a bicycle and with almost toy brakes.

In the available galleries I have found photos of Toni Elijah (father) with the Bultaco Pursang 250 in Esplugues in 1979, or Carlos Cardús at the Criterium Solo Moto in 1979 with the JJ Cobas. Here I only bring you four so you can spend a good time reviewing these photos on their original site as they hide part of the history of Spanish motorcycling. That it is not only Ángel Nieto, with all my respects. You can also visit the car galleries that are there, which are no less interesting.
