The Sides have been systematically forgotten in Spain, and in the rest of the world until they have almost disappeared from international races. Some "crazy people" try to keep them alive in meetings like Ricardo Tormo Day in Cheste, where I could see three harnesses rolling down the track. And it was creepy to see the co-driver take his body out to take the turn at the end of the circuit.

As I say, in Spain it is a category that very few can even say that they have seen them on the street, and much less those who saw them in the race when they entered the established program, along with the 50 cc or the 350 cc, that little by little they were disappearing from the world circus.

The champion par excellence of the category is Rolf Biland, who not only won seven world championships but is considered as the creator of the Sides as they are known today. Where there is no longer a physical differentiation between the bike and the Side, but both are a single entity. The World Cup is still being held today, but almost without any media coverage. Even my experience only spans a few moments as a passenger in a Dnper many, many years ago.
