Today in the morning I was in an act of presentation that supposes a change in the history of racing motorcycles. At least that was what Ernest Riveras said, the person in charge of presenting the first motorcycle of the new Moto2 category in our country, the Blusens BQR-Honda. The truth is that the act, which had the presence of Carmelo Ezpeleta and Juan Moreta, President of the Spanish Federation seemed to be quite important.

And after a brief explanation of what the new category consistedAs the project had developed and the role that this new motorcycle had in the 2009 CEV and the World Championship from 2010, it was time to meet the rider who will be in charge of riding it, Galician Dani Rivas.

The young driver is training morning and afternoon to prepare thoroughly physically, since the most it is likely that he will participate in many races in the Supersport category and in Moto2, so you will have to get off one motorcycle and get on the other, as in the old days.

Meanwhile the most anticipated image was covered under a blue sheet, the new motorcycle. The moment finally arrived and Carmelo Ezpeleta, Juan Moreta, Jose Ramón García from Blusens, Raul Romero as owner of the BQR team and Dani Rivas, They discovered what will be the motorcycle of the future in the motorcycle world championship, replacing the 250 c.c.

The motorcycle at first glance is very compact, and as most of those present pointed out, it is between a 250 and a MotoGP. The tail is small, and more reminiscent of the latter, while the front fairing could pass for that of a slim 250. His weight is only 137 kilos.

The motor, as the regulation says is a Honda of 599 cubic centimeters and 140 horsepower, while the chassis is handcrafted manufactured by BQR. And we must not forget that Moto2 will be a category where the teams are more important than the factories themselves, which will be in charge of supplying the engines. This feature has made Bimota consider entering the World Cup as chassis supplier for Moto2.

Now we just have to wait to see the first Moto2 debut in the CEV 2009, for which there must be 10 bikes on the grid and the panorama says that it will not be in the first round of Albacete, but that we will have to wait a few more races to see a complete manga.

And in 2010 it will reach the world championship, sharing the grid possibly with 250 the first year to replace it later in 2011. What is clear is that the one who strikes first strikes twice.
