The second day of practice at the Sepang Malaysian circuit was once again dominated by Valentino Rossi, who once again mounted qualifying tires to set his best lap. Behind, and unlike yesterday, in which the Italian was the only one to mount the soft tires, Nicky Hayden's Honda was placed, at 428 thousandths, wearing the qualifying Michelin.
Spanish rider Jorge Lorenzo finished the day with the fourth best time, improving his times from yesterday. In fact, the better grip conditions have made all the drivers improve their times from yesterday, with the exception of Valentino, who was the only one to ride slower. Despite the improvement, Jorge still has not found the sensations that he got from here in the past tests, in which he surprised everyone with his performance on the M1.
