One of our readers, Eduardo, sent us an email asking us if finally the Honda transalp It had been presented at the Paris Motor Show, and we have to say yes, so for him is this post with photos of the event and new information on this bike with more than 20 years of history.
As we already expected, the mythical Transalp has been profoundly renewed. It has a water-cooled V-twin engine. Has gained in displacement going from 647 to 680 cm3, new PGM-FI injection system and new 4-valve cylinder head. Thus, it gains in performance, in addition to complying with the EURO-3 emissions standard thanks to a HECS3 catalyst system with integrated oxygen sensor.
Aesthetically it has a more dynamic and aggressive appearance. Its front wheel decreases to a 19 diameter, while the rear wheel widens to offer greater stability. The fuel tank, also new, has less capacity than its predecessor, however its improved consumption provides a greater autonomy.
It is equipped with the HISS (Honda Ignition Security System). Thanks to this, when the Transalp is started in any way other than one of the two original keys of the motorcycle, the engine is disabled.
